Sony Releases PS3 Firmware Update 3.00 With Dynamic Themes

Sony released the PS3 Firmware update 3.00 and it is now ready to be downloaded by all the PS3 users. The update comes with new features like Trophies, Status Indicator and What’s New.

The “What’s New” section will replace the “Information Board”, and it will be placve under the PlayStation Network icon. Under the “What’s New” section you will find PlayStation news, latest games and your recently played games.

In the top right corner you will find the “Status Indicator.” This will show your icon, your friends icons, the number of online friends and a message icon which notifys you of any new messages. If you press the PS button the clock will no longer be covered by the battery life indiactor. It also includes a scrolling ticker so you can find out the latest PSN news.

The “Friends List” had been redesigned, and now you can view your friends messages at each of their respective profile.

Sony added a PlayStation Store Shortcut under the Game and The Video categories. With this shortcut you can now acces the latest games faster.

The Firmaware 3.00 allows the developers to choose how the trophies to be displayed with the new “Trophy” feature. All trophies will be shown into a single list so the user can see where they stand in a game.

Now you can also personalize your PS3 with dynamic themes and avatars. They will be available through PlayStation Store. The dynamic themes incorporate animated objects into the background.
