Apart from the 12.1MP camera, which some say it’s excellent, this smartphone failed in delivering the services everyone expected so Sony Ericsson investigated and noticed that the handheld was no good and removed it from the store shelves. Anyway the Sony Ericsson Satio is available for sale again with an updated software which seems to solve the problems it had in the previous version.

Apparently, the handheld is a little bit faster now but still light-years away from being a strong rival of the iPhone 3GS despite Satio’s manufacturer announcing before launch that “it can be better than the iPhone.”

Nokia E75 is now shipping! After several months of waiting, the E75 S60 QWERTY cellphone from the Finnish manufacturer is available in stores. The latest product from Nokia’s Eseries comes with the new eMail user interface, Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, Windows Live Hotmail, and Nokia Messaging. Nokia E75 features a 2.4-inch QVGA 320 x 240 pixel screen, 3.2-megapixel camera, quad-band GSM / EDGE and dual-band HSPDA data, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, A-GPS, and a microSD card slot. According to a report, all Palm smartphones have been delayed to the end of the year. This rumor comes from China as it is said that Compal expects new solutions for the chipsets that Qualcomm is developing; solutions that will dramatically improve the performance of the smartphones. Also, Motorola has cut off its smartphone orders, has delayed the Alexander handset, and the company has limited the markets where the A3100 is sold.

“Compal Communications will be forced to postpone its shipments of smartphones to Palm from mid-year to the end of the year. Palm’s two smartphones will be delayed as Compal is waiting for Qualcomm’s new chipset solutions that will enable better performance.”

However, we have our doubts as the Palm Pre has been confirmed a few days ago, and this smartphone uses TI OMAP chipset, not Compal. Although Motorola uses Compal processors for A3100 and Alexander, it is not the case of the Pre and we’re pretty sure that the smartphone will be available as of this summer.

For the moment we are waiting for an official statement from Palm to deny the rumor about Pre, and to confirm (or deny) the rumor regarding other Palm smartphones.

Check out the LG Versa. It’s a touchscreen based cellphone, but you’ve probably seen it before. However, you didn’t know that as of today, Versa is available online at Verizon stores for a price of $199, after a $50 online rebate and after you agree a two-year contract. The price for a one-year contract is $269, and for month-to-month it will cost you $449.

Apparently, you can run two OS on the same phone thanks to the MVP hypervisor developed by VMWare. In the video you can see a Nokia N800 running both Windows CE and Android  thanks to the MVP hypervisor which is a virtual machine that is supposed to run underneath a cellphone’s OS. The MVP hypervisor is as small as 20KB and it creates a platform on each device that it’s installed on which allows the OSes to be installed like applications.

Even cooler is that the MVP hypervisor will not create incompatibility issues with the drivers, therefore it can run multiple OSes on a device at the same time. Although Windows CE is not entirely an OS, and Nokia N800 isn’t entirely a cellphone, you can notice in the video above that the MVP was specially designed for smartphones.

According to VMWare, this virtual machine could be introduced in mobile phones pretty soon as they are already in talks with multiple manufacturers. However, I’m not really sure that the MVP hypervisor will be included in cellphones as a phone manufacturers are not likely to pay the license of this technology. I guess it remains to see what happens, meanwhile check out the video above.

When a good product appears on the market, a crappy clone pop-up and makes us laugh so hard that we burst into tears. After the HiPhone, SciPhone, various CECT phone and their “updates”, here is another one – the GiPhone F5. Who cares that it has the name of an “ancient” aircraft? Apparently nobody. It seems like the GiPhone supports finger swipe, 3G, it comes with a 3.2-inch multi-touchscreen, 16GB of flash memory, lots of games, and it also comes in white flavor.

We don’t know other details, specs or whatever. We don’t know if it’s available or if it will ever be available. We don’t know its pricing. In the end, I think it would be better to remain unknown. In order to make your lives more entertaining, check out the video below of the GiPhone F5.

All I know about the Sprint Treo Pro is that this cellphone has been delayed so many times that I thought it would never hit the store shelves. However, I was proven wrong and the Palm Pro showed up on BestBuy for an amazing price of $249 with a two-year plan. Although the off-contract costs $699, I think that this is a little too much to ask for a cellphone like this. Well, this doesn’t matter as next month we will get our hands on the HTC-built phone, however, why is it called Palm Pro? Why not Sprint Treo Pro? Or Treo Pro? Geez, I don’t really understand anything, but HTC Treo Pro would sound better. Hmm, let’s just wait until next month and hopefully somebody will clear this story for us.

A while ago, Motorola was the leading cellphone vendor in the US. Why? Because of their simple, useful, reliable and cute devices. However, things have changed and currently, Samsung is US’ leading cellphone vendor. Now, Motorola is looking into this and they are trying to get back on the first position with a new product that can compete against today’s smartphones – iPhone 3G, BB Storm, HTC Touch Diamond, T-Mobile G1, and the upcoming Palm Pre.

Here is a leaked photo of what appears to be a touchscreen-based smartphone from Motorola which features a 5-megapixel camera phone from Kodak with Xenon flash, and TV-out. I remember that when the T-Mobile G1 was released, some rumors were pointing to an Android-based Motorola cellphone and this could be it!

For the moment, we don’t have anything else, but we are waiting for Motorola to make an official announcement or at least for some more leaked photos and some information about the product.
