A while ago, Motorola was the leading cellphone vendor in the US. Why? Because of their simple, useful, reliable and cute devices. However, things have changed and currently, Samsung is US’ leading cellphone vendor. Now, Motorola is looking into this and they are trying to get back on the first position with a new product that can compete against today’s smartphones – iPhone 3G, BB Storm, HTC Touch Diamond, T-Mobile G1, and the upcoming Palm Pre.

Here is a leaked photo of what appears to be a touchscreen-based smartphone from Motorola which features a 5-megapixel camera phone from Kodak with Xenon flash, and TV-out. I remember that when the T-Mobile G1 was released, some rumors were pointing to an Android-based Motorola cellphone and this could be it!

For the moment, we don’t have anything else, but we are waiting for Motorola to make an official announcement or at least for some more leaked photos and some information about the product. What do you think? Could Motorola regain its authority? Could this touchscreen smartphone rival against other established smartphones?
